Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +23 points at 7930.  The UK 100 looks set to open higher this morning ahead of key US inflation data.  This follows on from a bright session Stateside yesterday which saw all major indices end the day in the green. The Dow Jones closed Thursday up 109 points or 0.3%, at 33,154, the Nasdaq added 83 points or 0.7%, to 11,590 and the S&P also improved by 21 points or 0.5% respectively, to close at 4,012.

Cineworld receives non-binding proposals for some or all of the firm’s businesses.

 

 

CVS Group report a H1 FY23 pretax profit of £28m, up from £22.9m YoY. They remain confident that FY results will be in line with expectations.

 

 

International Consolidated Airlines Group reported a substantially improved financial performance with a FY22 profit of 415m euros, up from a loss of 3.51bn euros YoY. They have agreed to pay 400m euros for the remaining 80% of Air Europa.

 

 

Jupiter Fund Management reports that their assets under management fall 17% to £50.2bn. Their pretax profit has fallen 68% to £58m as their 2022 total dividend amounts to 8.4p per share, down from 17.1p.
