Markets Overview:

The UK 100 called to open +8 points at 7769.  The UK 100 looks set to start the last trading session of the week on the front foot following a rally on Wall Street yesterday, afternoon trading saw investors digested the release of gross domestic product data and another round of corporate earnings.  At the close, all three major indices were in the green, with the Dow adding 206 points at 33,949, a 0.6% gain; the S&P up 1.1% or 44 points at 4,060 and the Nasdaq rocketing 1.8% to 11,512, up 199 points.

Direct Line announces CEO Penny James will step down with immediate effect as they appoint CCO Jon Greenwood as acting CEO.

 

 

On the Beach says Oct-Dec trading exceeded year before. They state that FY23 began with a healthier forward order book than year before.
