Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open -60 points this morning at 6893.  UK 100 is expected to open lower on Monday following heavy losses in the US on Friday. However Kwasi Kwarteng, the UK chancellor, has just announced a huge U-turn and is scrapping plans to cut the highest rate of tax.  On Friday, The Dow closed Friday down 500 points, 1.7%, at 28,726, the Nasdaq lost 162 points, 1.5%, to 10,576 and the S&P dropped 55 points, 1.5%, to 3,586.

Company News:

Essentra says their CEO Paul Forman will step down at the end of 2022 and be replaced by Scott Fawcett. They are also selling their filters business to Centaury Management for £262.1m.

 

 

Halma has purchased IZI Medical Products for $153.5m.

 

 

Qinetiq has purchased Air Affairs for £31m and sold QinetiQ Space for 32m euros.

 

 

Telecom Plus expects FY profits to be materially ahead of current market expectations.
