Company News:

Dunelm Group reported higher annual profits as customers continued to shop at its stores and online shopping thrived despite the cost of living crisis in Britain. They posted a 32% rise in profit before tax for the year at £209m. They expect to deliver about 50% gross margin in 2023, slightly lower than the 51.2% it saw in 2022.

ITM Power reports a FY22 pretax loss of £46.7m (2021: £27.6m loss).

Redrow reports FY pretax profit of £246m, down 22% YoY from £314m. They note that the housing market has moderated due to inflation and higher interest rates. Their order book for the new financial year stands at over £1.4bn. They also note exceptional fire safety costs of £164m has hit their pretax profit.

Tullow Oil has said it will stick to the current form of its planned all-share merger with Capricorn Energy, shrugging off criticism from some Capricorn investors who say the deal undervalues the company. They have reiterated their guidance for FY free cash flow of $200m at an oil price of $95 a barrel, after recording a $205m negative cash flow in H1 after an acquisition and an arbitration payment.
