The UK 100 is called to open -38 points this morning at 7512. A lower open is expected this morning for the UK’s blue chip index, this comes after a disappointing session on Wall Street on Friday and Asia this morning. The S&P closed down 1.29%. The Dow Jones dropped 292 points, or 0.86%, and the Nasdaq dropped 2.01%. In Asia, the Nikkei 225 closed 0.48% lower and the Hang Seng was down 0.14%. In focus this week will likely be the highly anticipated comments from Fed Chairman Jerome Powell on inflation at the central bank's annual Jackson Hole economic symposium.
