Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open -11 points this morning at 7530. Trading in London is expected to make a subdued start on Friday despite gains in the US, and a rebound in UK retail sales in July, which came in better than expected.  On Wall Street yesterday.   The S&P rose 0.23% to settle at 4,283.74, while the Nasdaq inched 0.21% higher to 12,965.34. The Dow Jones added 0.06%, or 18.72 points, to close the session at 33,999.04.

Just Eat Takeaway.com re-confirms their guidance given in August as they continue to explore Grubhub sale. They agree to sell a 33% stake in iFood to Prosus for up to 1.8bn euros.
Kingspan report a H1 pretax profit of 387.6m euros (2021: 297.2m euros) and have increased their dividend to 25.6 cents (up from 19.9 cents). They retain their outlook as they state inflationary pressures have eased recently as they are closely monitoring Europe's energy backdrop.
