Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open +24 points this morning at 7525.  Calls for a positive open come after U.S. equities rose on Monday as the rally on Wall Street continued as traders prepared for a big week for retail earnings.  The Dow Jones added 151.39 points, or 0.45% to close at 33,912.44. The S&P rose 0.4% to 4,297.14, while the Nasdaq edged 0.62% higher to close at 13,128.05.

Abrdn sells 12.8m shares in HDFC AMC, getting £225m from the sale.
AstraZeneca says Lynparza has been granted FDA priority review for form of prostate cancer.
BHP nearly trebles their annual profit on soaring commodity prices. They reported a FY underlying profit of $23.82bn, +39% YoY. They have also increased their dividend per share to 325 cents, +8% YoY.
Darktrace state they are in early stages of discussion with technology investment firm Thoma Bravo regarding a possible cash offer to buy Darktrace.
IAG: British Airways staff agree to 13% average pay rise.
Rolls-Royce: Moody's raises Rolls-Royce outlook to stable from negative as engine flying hours are set to rise.
Sage Group agrees to acquire cloud native technology provider Lockstep. They note it will not affect their previously communicated financial guidance.
Ted Baker agrees to be bought by Authentic Brands in a £211m deal valuing them at 110p per share.
 
Watches of Switzerland Group report Q1 revenue of £391m (2021: £297m) as they reiterate their previous FY23 outlook.
