The UK 100 is called to open +12 points this morning at 7318. The UK 100 looks set to extend Mondays gains in early trading. This follows a somewhat choppy session on Wall Street yesterday, The S&P added 0.1%, closing at 3,966.84. The Dow Jones climbed 90.75 points, or 0.3%, to 31,990.04. The tech-heavy Nasdaq lagged, sliding 0.4% to 11,782.67. All of the major averages are on track for their best month of the year.
Compass Group tempered their annual exit margin forecast as rising costs push consumers and businesses to cut spending, hitting the world's largest caterer, as they now expect their exit margin to "moderate slightly" from about 7%.
EasyJet report that disruption caused by staff shortages on its aircraft and in airports cost it £133m in the three months to end of June, but it added that operations had improved in July. They reported a headline loss before tax of £114m for the quarter.
Greencore reports Q2 22 pro forma revenue of £486.2m, +26% YoY. They are confident of delivering a strong profit and cashflow progression in H2. They expect FY22 adjusted operating profit outturn to be between £72-77m.
Rolls-Royce appoints Fugan Erginbilgic as their new CEO from January 1st 2023.
Shell buys Shell Midstream for nearly $2bn from subsidiary.
Unilever posted an 8.1% increase in H1 underlying sales, beating forecasts as they hiked prices to counter soaring costs. Analysts had expected growth of 7.2%.
