Markets Overview:

 

The UK 100 is called to open +10 points at 7525.  The UK 100 looks set to open modestly higher ahead of the release of US jobs data for March today.  Yesterday saw US markets take a big step back, with the Dow Jones tumbling 550 points to 34,678 and the S&P gave up 72 points at 4,530.  In Asia, it was a red session this morning. In Japan, the Nikkei 225 is down 128 points at 27,693 while in Hong Kong the Hang Seng is 159 points lighter at 21,837.

Ryanair's CEO Michael O'Leary said he expected a strong rebound in the airline's activity but said the recovery was fragile due to COVID and the geopolitical situation in Ukraine.
