Markets Overview:

 

 

The UK 100 is called to open +32 points today at 7160.   A positive open is expected today to end out the week with a jolt, This follows a bumped session Stateside yesterday, US markets stormed ahead as investors seemingly stopped worrying about the potential impact of the Omicron virus, with the Dow Jones up 618 points, closing at 34,460 and the S&P 64 points to the good at 4,577.  Asia Pacific shares were mostly higher on Friday, with the exception of Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index, which slipped 0.17%.  China’s Shanghai Composite rose 0.88% and the Shenzhen component climbed 0.232%.  The Nikkei in Japan surged 1.00% while South Korea’s Kospi gained 0.88%.
