Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open +10 points today at 7227.  The UK blue chip index is called to open higher today ahead of the UK CPI numbers, which could lead to a rate hike from the Bank of England.  Asian stocks rose Wednesday after Wall Street advanced on Tuesday for a fifth day on strong corporate earnings.  Shanghai, Tokyo, Hong Kong and Sydney advanced. Seoul declined.  The Shanghai Composite Index saw modest gains of less than 0.1% to 3,594.38, the Nikkei in Tokyo gained 0.2% to 29,287.16. The Hang Seng in Hong Kong rose 1.3% to 26,125.96.  Stateside on Tuesday saw the S&P rise by 33.17 points, or 0.7%, to close at 4,519.63.  The Dow Jones rose by 198.70 points, or 0.6%, to 35,457.31.  The Nasdaq rose 107.28 points, or 0.7%, to 15,129.09.

Burberry names Versace boss Jonathan Akeroyd as their new CEO.
Deliveroo has upgraded its FY growth forecast after the gross value of its orders in Q3 increased 58% YoY, despite lockdown measures easing in most of its markets.
Entain remain in talks with DraftKings over a potential merger after the UK panel on takeovers & mergers gave more time for a deal to be reached. The deadline has been extended to November 16th.
Hammerson says 70% of group billable rent has been collected for Q4 to date as footfall in all territories now stands at circa 15-20% below 2019 levels.
Segro signs £26m in new headline rent during Q3 v £16m in the same period last year.
