Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open -18 points today at 7103. A weaker open is expected this morning as inflation fears seem to be continuing to dog sentiment. This comes after all three major indices notched up record closes stateside on Friday, The Dow Jones added 448.23 points, or 1.3%, to a record close of 34,870.16. The S&P bounced by 1.1%, closing at an all-time high of 4,369.55 and the tech-heavy Nasdaq closed just shy of 1% to close at a record of 14,701.92. Asian markets were spurred on this morning by China’s central bank’s decision on Friday to allow banks to set aside less money in reserves to cover their lending. Japan’s Nikkei was the early star performer after it jumped 2.3% from a two-month low.

Admiral predicts higher than expected H1 pretax profit of between £450-500m.
 
Dechra Pharmaceuticals reports stronger than expected trading performance as their FY21 reported group revenue rose 21%.
Plus 500 updates that their performance in H1 has been "strong" as revenue and new customers fall. They are confident on their outlook for the remainder of 2021 and beyond.
 
Trustpilot maintains outlook for their business as they are "encouraged" by H1 progress.
