Markets Overview:

The UK 100 is called to open +26 points today at 7056.  Calls for a positive open this morning come ahead of the release of gross domestic product.  US markets sold of heavily yesterday but were well off their worst levels by the close. The Dow fell by 260 points to 24,422, this was however more than 200 points above its low. The S&P dropped 37 points at 4,321.  While in Asia this morning it was more mixed, the Nikkei was down 508 points at 27,610 in Japan but in Hong Kong, the Hang Seng was 178 points higher at 27,331.

MJ Gleeson - The Group ended the year with cash balances of £34.3m and no debt vs £16.8m net cash 30 June 2020.  Announcing as a result of the Group's strong performance, the Board expects the results for the financial year to 30 June 2021 to be marginally ahead of market expectations and in line with results achieved in the pre-Covid year ended 30 June 2019.

 

Senior - Announced today that trading in the Period has been ahead of management expectations.  The Group's cash performance has been robust with a net cash inflow of £61m.  Net debt at the end of June 2021 is expected to be around £71m (excluding capitalised leases of £76m), with headroom on our committed borrowing facilities increasing by £58m since December 2020 to £215m.
