The UK 100 is called to open +13 points today at 7115. This follows on from a positive session stateside yesterday which saw The Dow Jones adding 323 points to 34,197 while the broader-based S&P 500 jumped 25 points to 4,266. Asian shares rose on Friday, tracking gains on Wall Street overnight that lifted the Nasdaq and the S&P 500 indexes to record highs after U.S. President Joe Biden embraced a bipartisan Senate infrastructure deal. Oil prices climbed to near three-year highs, supported by draw downs in U.S. inventories and accelerating German economic activity, with U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude rising 0.29% to $73.51 per barrel and global benchmark Brent crude at $75.77, up 0.28% on the day.
Travel stocks: The travel industry has voiced frustration and disappointment after the latest limited easing of coronavirus restrictions on foreign holidays.
