Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 is called to open +4 points this morning at 7026.  Calls for a positive open for the start of June come as the UK’s growth set to be the fastest among developed countries, according to the latest forecasts from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development.  In Asia this morning stocks were mixed as China’s Caixin/Markit manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index for May came in at 52, higher than April’s reading of 51.9.  In China dipped, the Shanghai composite dipped 0.04%, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index lifted 0.58%.  In Japan, the Nikkei 225 fell 0.20%.

Biffa reports a pretax loss of £52.8m (2020: £56.4m profit) and has declared no dividend. They state that they are encouraged by recent trading and that expectations for FY22 remain unchanged.

 

Kingspan signs new credit facility of 700m euros to 2026, replacing its 751m euro facility.

 

Micro Focus appoints former William Hill CFO Matt Ashley as their new CFO.
