Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open +13 points this morning at 6952. (5.8 point dividend also paid) A modestly higher open is expected today, this is despite a disappointing trading session in Asia overnight, In Japan, the Nikkei was the stand out performer, trading close to flat, closing the session at 29,618. Hong Kong’s Hang Seng meanwhile fell close to 1% at 28,642 and the Shanghai Composite index in China fell 0.9% to 3,388.  The picture was mixed stateside yesterday, the Dow Jones ended the day in the green, 0.16% or 53 points higher to close at 33,730.  The S&P 500 meanwhile gave up 0.4% to trade at 4,124 and the Nasdaq gave up nearly 1% to finish the day at 13,857.

AO World report that their FY revenue increased 62% to £1.66bn.

 

Deliveroo expects their rate of growth to decelerate as lockdowns ease, but the pace of this deacceleration is uncertain. As their Q1 orders in UKI +121% to 34m and international order were up 108% to 37m YoY.

 

Entain reports strong Q1 online traffic, continuing momentum seen at end of 2020. Their net gaming revenue increased 33% as their retail outlets were hit by coronavirus restrictions.

 

Travis Perkins says that they've had a positive start to their trading year with Q1 Like-for-Like sales growth of 17%.

 

Wizz Air expects gradual traffic recovery into late summer 2021 as they expect to report a FY21 net loss of around 570-590m euros.
