Markets Overview:

UK 100 is called to open +27 points this morning at 6788. Calls for a positive start today come on the back of yesterdays US Federal Reserve meeting which highlighted improving growth in the United States and a best of both world scenario in which the US has delivered a higher growth rate, but at the same time, it doesn’t see the need to hike rates anytime soon.  On Wall Street, the news was greatly received by investors, seeing the Dow Jones rise by 189 points or 0.58% to close Wednesday’s session at 33,015.  The S&P 500 moved up 0.29% to close at 3,974 and the Nasdaq ended Wednesday up 0.4% at 13,525 to complete a green sweep of markets.  In Asia overnight, Japan’s Nikkei gained 302 points or 1.01% to trade at 30,216 and Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed further, adding 475 points or 1.64% to 29,505.  In China, the Shanghai Composite was up 0.37% to 3,458.
