UK 100 called to open flat this morning flat this morning at 6523. The UK blue-chip index is set to open flat after yesterday’s gains as Wall Street and Asia leap to new highs. The Dow Jones rose 238 points or 0.8% to close at 31,385.76, while the S&P also climbed, 0.7%. The biggest winner was the Nasdaq, which jumped 0.95%. It was a similar picture in Asia overnight, the Hang Seng index in Hong Kong gained 0.27% while the Shanghai Composite in China jumped 1.94%. In Japan, the Nikkei also gained 0.40%. Stocks in the region were driven higher on Tuesday after Brent crude prices crossed $60 per barrel for the first time in more than a year.
Bellway says that their FY completions are expected to be 9,800 homes, up from 7,522 YoY. Their order book stands at 5,889 homes worth 1.63bn, up from 4,598 homes in the previous year.
G4S ends 2020 with net debt to EBITDA well within their target range.
Micro Focus reports that their FY pretax loss widens to $2.94bn (2020: $34.1m loss).
Ocado sees 35% retail revenue growth amide strong demand for online grocery in the UK. They reported that their FY revenue has risen YoY to £2.33bn from £1.76bn. Their FY pretax loss has also narrowed to £44m from £214.5m YoY.
TUI report that their Q1 revenue has dropped 88% to 468.1m from 3.85bn euros. Their financial liquidity has been bridged to summer 2021 after receiving a 3rd tranche of support. They also state that 2.8m customers have booked for summer 2021 season and they plan to run at 80% of summer 2019 volume.
