UK 100 called to open -60 points this morning at 5668. Calls for a negative open come as worries over rising cases of coronavirus in multiple countries dented investor sentiment. Markets in Asia were mixed overnight on Wednesday morning following Wall Street’s performance, with Japan’s Nikkei 225 down 0.29% while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng climbed 0.18%. The Dow Jones closed down 0.8% at 27,463 on Tuesday, while the S&P 500 fell 0.3% to 3,390. However the Nasdaq delivered a green day, managing to end the session up 0.6% at 11,431.
Aston Martin: Daimler unit Mercedes-Benz is to raise its stake in Aston Martin up to 20% by 2023 making it one of its largest shareholders.
GSK are to support Covax with 200 million doses of COVID-19 Vaccine.
Next upgrades their profit forecast for the third time in as many months after full-price sales in Q3 exceeded expectations. Full price sales rose 2.8% in Q3 and they state that their FY pretax profit is now forecast to be £365m (An increase of £65m).
