Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 called to open +40 points this morning at 5905.  Calls for a positive open come as global factory growth hits 21-month high.  During Tuesday session the Dow Jones Rose by 215.61 points, or 0.8%, to close at 28,645.66. The S&P also added to Mondays gain, climbing by 0.8% to 3,526.65 & the Nasdaq completed the all green session on Tuesday advancing 1.4% to 11,939.67.  In the process the S&P and the Nasdaq both set fresh record highs to kick off September.

 

Company News:

Barratt Developments has scrapped a special dividend payout for 2021 as it reported a near 30% fall in FY housing completions and revenue, while forward sales were up from 2019. Pretax profit fell 45.9% to £491.8m for FY ended June 30th.

Computacenter says that its successful trading performance in H1 has continued for the first two months of H2. They expect performance will be materially above board's previous expectations for FY 2020.

Ryanair August traffic falls 53% to 7m guests.

Unilever have said it will invest 1bn euros to eliminate fossil fuels from its cleaning products by 2030, cutting down on carbon emissions created by the chemicals used in making its products.
