UK 100 called to open -18 points this morning at 6227. China's factory activity expanded at a stronger pace in June after lockdown easing and government investment. Export weakness however showed that the coronavirus will still be a drag for sometime. In the US the Fed's Powell said that the future remains still very uncertain and will depend on the containing the virus and government intervention. Lawmakers will grill the Fed and Treasury today, over how effective the $3 trillion emergency aid has been. oil advanced last night with WTI and Brent up 2.5% and 1.15% respectively.
AstraZeneca and Mexico are in talks about running trials for experimental COVID-19 vaccines.
BP announce that Alaskan officials have approved the sale of its oil and gas leases in the state.
Cineworld announces that its cinemas in the US and the UK will reopen starting Friday 31st July.
Royal Dutch Shell have announced around $20-27bn worth of impairments ahead of Q2 2020 trading results released in July.
