UK 100 called to open +70 points at 6290. Calls for a positive open come after the Chinese economy showed signs of a strong rebound. The latest Caixin services PMI data showed its first positive reading for four months, rising to 55 in May from 44 in April. Any figure over 50 indicates growth. This was China's best reading since October 2010. Japan’s benchmark Nikkei index rose 0.6 percent, while Hong Kong’s Hang Seng added 1.2 percent.. Chemring Group have stood by its annual targets and raised its dividend as it posted a jump in H1 profits, managing to win new orders from the USA despite the coronavirus crisis. They have a strong order book in place and have delivered a pre-tax profit of £24.2m (2019: £9.9m).
SSP Group report revenue -2.7%, like-for-like sales -8.4% and an operating loss of £6.7m for H1 2020 as COVID-19 has had a significant impact on their results.
