UK 100 called to open +100 points at 5899. Calls for a positive open in Europe come as all major indices in Asian finished in the green dragged higher by US futures, as Donald Trump said the US were still non track to have major sporting events, with full Stadiums, sooner rather than later.. News that up to 30 million vaccines could be rolled out to Britain's by September, pending trials has spurred positive sentiment on the UK Index this morning. Oil prices also took a huge jump forward with Brent Crude trading 4%higher at $32, ahead of contract expiries.
AstraZeneca's drug Enhertu granted breakthrough therapy designation in the US for HER2-mutant metastatic non-small cell lung cancer.
Ryanair reported a FY profit after tax of 1bn euros, but said it was unable to provide a forecast for the current year due to COVID-19. They have also cut their annual passenger traffic target by a further 20%.
Vodafone announce a partnership agreement with Chinese company Oppo to bring a wide range of their products to European markets.
