Markets Overview:

UK 100 called to open -100 points at 7490;  Deepening fears about the economic and human impact of the deadly coronavirus sent stocks, crude oil and China’s yuan tumbling Monday, and spurred haven assets higher. Futures on Chinese shares fell more than 5% and the yuan erased this month’s trade-deal driven gains in wake of news that the virus continues to spread, with no peak in sight.  The Nikkei fell by 2% (483 points) to close at 23,343, however the Hang Seng pared early losses to close the session +40 points at 27,949.  The US closed out last week with an all red trading session, led lower by the Dow Jones, dropping 170 points to close at 28,989, the S&P saw a similar percentage fall, giving up 30 points to close at 3,295 and the nasdaq completed the red set, closing at 9,314 (-87 points).  Crude oil slipped elow $60 a barrel overnight, whilst traditional safe haven gold rallied to $1578 per troy ounce.
