Markets Overview:

 

UK 100 called to open +30 points at 7256; This come on the back of a positive trading session in Asia thanks to a surprise victory in Hong Kong for pro democracy candidates after a record turnout to vote. The Hang Seng lead Asian markets higher +418 points, the Nikkei also closed higher +181 points, how much of this positive sentiment will filter through to European markets today? Focus on mining stocks this morning. The US closed out last week on a high, the Dow +103 points on Friday, the S&P closed +7 points and the Nasdaq completed the green sweep +13 points. Crude continued to push higher, trading at $63.7 at time of writing while the biggest loser from this positive sentiment is Gold trading down at $1459.

 

In corporate news this morning:

 

Intu this morning confirmed that they have disposed of Sprucefield retail park to NewRiver REIT Plc for £40 million, in line with the June 2019 valuation.

 

Lloyds Bank announced this morning that Stuart Sinclair, an independent Non-Executive Director and Chairman of the Remuneration Committee, has been appointed as a member of the Nomination and Governance Committee with effect from 1 December 2019.
