UK 100 called to open down (-17 points) this morning at 7556. Stocks were mixed overnight with Asian bourses showing slight declines, mirroring the US with subdued trading volumes. Investors were anxious as more US earnings reports are due this week. The dollar held firm on solid US retail data whilst the pound fell as a result. Oil prices were flat overnight with WTI prices approaching $58 again and Crude falling below the $65. Gold shed $4 and now stands at $1407.
BHP exceeded FY production guidance for petroleum and met revised guidance for copper and iron ore.. They expect to achieve full year unit cost guidance at Petroleum, Escondida and Western Australia Iron Ore mines. FY Copper production to be slightly higher/
Acacia Mining says local Tanzanian operating subsidiaries, Bulyanhulu Gold Mine and Pangea Minerals, will immediately seek a stay of their international arbitration with Government of Tanzania. If the government, Acacia would expect arbitration hearing to be postponed to give it time to complete settlement discussions with Acacia owner Barrick Gold.
Galliford Try continues to trade well and expects to FY pre-tax profit in line with consensus range.
TalkTalk Q1 revenues +1.3% YoY. Cost savings on track with FY outlook unchanged with strong EBITDA growth driven by fibre penetration and cost savings.
Fresnillo Q2 silver production +9.7% YoY. Gold +4.8%, Lead +7.5%. Cuts FY production guidance.
Severn Trent says financials on track; no material change to business performance or outlook since previous results. FY trading performance expected in-line with expectations.
Johnson Matthey backs FY 2020 Guidance; Q1 Sales were Flat; Performance to be H2 weighted sees med-term Growth in mid to high single digits; Clean Air executive to retire next year.
Premier Oil on track to meet previously increased full year production guidance. Group production averaged 84.1 kboepd for 1H 2019. Cut debt by $180m of FY $300m est.
GVC Q2 trading very strong with Online delivering continued material market share gains across all major territories. Confident of delivering EBITDA and operating profit in-line with FY expectations.
