GKN PLC (GKN.L) – Saw its senior unsecured debt rating fall to Ba1 from Baa3, an indication of a higher default possibility on expectations its leverage will rise beyond levels commensurate with an investment grade rating following its recent acquisition by Melrose, according to Moody’s. Closing price 482.88p (Bloomberg)

Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS.L) - The U.K. government may begin selling part of its remaining stake in the lender as soon as this week, according to Sky News. Earlier this month it reached a preliminary deal with the U.S. DoJ on its sale of Mortgage backed securities in 2008. A spokesman for RBS declined to comment. Standard Life Aberdeen PLC (SLA.L) – Says it will return £1.75bn to shareholders. £1bn via a (B) share scheme and the remaining £750m via a share buyback. Closing price 360.56p (Bloomberg)

ITV PLC (ITV.L) -  Is considering entering into a joint venture valued at £1bn with The BBC to acquire half of UKTV. Closing price 168.22p (Reuters / The Telegraph)
