UK 100 Index called to open down 23 points at 7,183 following reignited trade war concerns after comments from US President Trump late last night. Trump said he has instructed the Treasury to consider $100 Bln in additional tariffs on China.
Bulls, after seeing a break of 7150 in yesterday’s trading session will be eyeing a break of 7200 to continue the upward momentum. Bears on the other hand are eyeing a break of 7150 with the hopes of then extending losses back to early April lows of 7000.
Index futures are off their lows overnight and Asian cash equity markets are trading mostly higher as remarks from a US Senior official, who said the US is willing to negotiate on trade with China, but only if it is serious as previous attempts resulted in little progress.
