The below stocks have been identified as having potential to register bigger than normal share price moves (up or down) today based on the news cited

Ashtead (AHT) - The US-focused machine rental company announces underlying rental revenues increased 21%, while operating profit rises 22% and pre-tax profit up 24%, although the company expects CAPEX at upper end of guidance and similar in 2018/19; FX headwinds persist, but mitigated by strong US. 2018 guidance has been reiterated, while the finance director is to step down.

GKN (GKN) - The FT are reporting that MPs are trying to block Melrose’s £7bn hostile takeover of GKN.

Just Eat (JE.) - The takeaway delivery company has reported a statutory pre-tax loss after a large Australasia impairment. While full year revenues rose 45% (international +75%), underlying EBITDA only rose by 42%, suggesting some margin contraction. However the company also reported +30% organic growth, orders +26% and plans to invest more.

Smurfit Kappa (SKG) - The packaging company has rejected a bid (cash + minority holding) from International Paper Co as the bid fails to reflect growth prospects and industry outlook. The value of the offer was not disclosed.
