Petrofac Ltd (PFC.L) - Reported a 10.7% fall in H1 core earnings as subdued oil prices forced exploration and drilling companies to defer or cancel service contracts. Earnings fell to $323m for the first half ended June 30. Revenue for the half year fell roughly 20% to $3.13 billion. It also reduced its dividend by 42%. Closing price 423.20p (Reuters)
WH Smith PLC (SMWH.L) - Analysts are estimating FY pretax profit will grow 5% to £138.9m. The company says its travel business reported good sales across all channels and its store opening plan is progressing as expected. Its cost savings and margin expansion in high street business are in line with profit-focused strategy. Closing price 1849.00p (Bloomberg)
