BT Group PLC (BT.A), Vodafone Group PLC (VOD.L) - The U.K.’s communications regulator is planning to place limits on the amount of wireless spectrum BT Group Plc and Vodafone Group Plc can buy at a coming auction, in a long-awaited decision that risks being appealed. Closing prices 288.40p, 219.95p (Bloomberg)

Carillion Plc (CLLN.L) - Interim head Keith Cochrane said “no option is off the table” as the company seeks to recover from a record stock market plunge, weaker-than-expected profit growth and the resignation of its CEO. After cash flow deterioration and dividend payments suspension, the company will undertake a “comprehensive review” of the business and the capital structure. Closing price 117.10p (Bloomberg)

Marks & Spencer Group PLC (MKS.L) – Saw Q1 home & clothing comparable sales miss estimates, expectations of -1% came in weaker at -1.2%, with food sales also lower than expected at -1% where +0.6% was forecast. Closing price 339.00p (Bloomberg News)

Pearson (PSON.L) – Generated a total $1bn by selling a 22% stake in Penguin Random House to Bertelsmann, reducing net debt. Announces £300m return of surplus capital to shareholders through a share buy-back scheme. A sustainable progressive dividend to shareholders is to be announced in August. Closing price 690.50p (Bloomberg)
