Anglo American (AAL.L), Antofagasta (ANTO.L), BHP Billiton (BLT.L), Glencore (GLEN.L), Rio-Tinto (RIO.L), Vedanta Resources (VED.L) - Base metals partially reversed some losses on bargain hunting after falling on the Fed move to raise rates. A rise in steel prices on reports about cuts in China's excess steel production capacity also lifted prices of zinc and nickel, key components in in steel-making. BHP Billiton Ltd (BLT.L) – Appoints packaging-industry veteran to head its board, director Ken MacKenzie is to succeed Jac Nasser when he retires after seven years as chairman. BHP faces criticism from activist investors over underperformance and accusations directors wasted billions of dollars on acquisitions and mistimed share buybacks. Closing price 1160.00p (Dow Jones Newswires)

Tesco PLC (TSCO.L) – Saw its Q1 U.K. like for like sales beat analysts’ estimates. Sales ex-fuel were up 2.3% against 1.9% expected, although international sales and group sales as a whole missed forecasts. Closing price 179.95p (Bloomberg)
