BHP Billiton Ltd (BLT.L) – Expects China to grow slower, reporting  a FY statutory loss $6.385bn against a profit of $1.91bn y-o-y, its largest loss in history, cutting its final dividend. Capital and exploration expenditure declined by 42% to $6.4bn and is expected to decrease further to $5.0bn in 2017. Closing price 1042.50p (Reuters / Sigma Squawk)

Antofagasta (ANTO.L) - Lowered its full-year spending budget while reporting a 2.3% rise in its H1 core profit helped by a 40% cost cut to capital expenditure from $276.9m to $385.4m, announcing full year spending would be lower than previously thought. Closing price 514.00p (Reuters)

Balfour Beatty PLC (BBY.L) – Awarded $697m U.S. Caltrain contract, which is expected to employ over 300 people. This is the second largest contract secured by Balfour Beatty in the U.S. Closing price 241p (Reuters)

Cairn Energy (CNE.L) – Cairn’s exploration and appraisal focus in Senegal is balanced with development assets in the UK. Cairn remains fully-funded in respect to all its capital commitments. Closing price 195.00p. (Reuters)

John Wood Group Plc (WG.L) - Reported a fall in earnings from $225.9m to $166.4m, a 26.3% fall in H1 core earnings, hurt by weak demand from oil and gas producers. Closing price 729.50p (Reuters)
