Glencore, Anglo American (GLEN.L) (AAL.L) – Glencore and X2, a vehicle set up by former Xstrata CEO Mick Davis, are among the companies that placed bids last week for two Anglo American copper mines in Chile. Premier Farnell Plc (PFL.L) - Group gross profit at constant currency was 2% lower year on year. The company expect H1 adjusted operating profit to be marginally below prior year. The CEO anticipated adjusted operating profit for FY to be broadly in line. Closing price 189.70p (Reuters)
Poundland (PLND.L) - Met forecasts with a 19% rise in annual profit, though cautioned that it expects H1 to be subdued after its sales growth slowed in its new financial year. It made a pretax profit of £43.7m in the year to March 29 in line with analysts' average forecast of £43.6m and up from £36.8m made in the 2013-14. Closing price 311.10p (Reuters/Bloomberg)
