Sainsbury's (SBRY.L) - Posted its first annual underlying profit fall since 2005, hurt by an industry price war that shows no sign of abating. Pre-tax profit of £681m ahead of analysts' average forecast of £659m but was down 14.7% from the £798m made in the 2013-14 year. The firm said it was making good progress with its strategy, with its investment in price and quality showing encouraging early signs of volume and transaction growth. Closing Price 275.00p (Reuters)
GKN (GKN.L) - Said it expected to grow in 2015, repeating guidance given in February. Reported a 1% rise in organic sales for 2015 Q1. It said its automotive business continued to outperform the growth of that market, as expected. Closing price 348.00p (Reuters)
Imperial Tobacco Group (IMT.L) - Reported a 5% decline in underlying tobacco sales volume in Q1 of its fiscal year and stood by its outlook for the remainder. Revenue fell 4% to £12.1Bn in the six months ended March 31. Still on track to meet its goals this year, including increasing its dividend by at least 10%. Closing price 3120.00p (Reuters)
Legal & General (LGEN.L) - Posted an 8% rise in net cash generation in Q1, but inflows to its asset management arm dropped, compared with a year earlier. Assets under management rose 17% to £736.8bn, but net inflows in Q1 2015 were £2.6bn, compared with £9bn in Q1 2014. Closing price 260.01p (Reuters)
Carillion (CRH.L) - Delivery in line with expectations; sales from continuing operations up 2.5%, sales from America’s continuing operations up 8%. Divestment proceeds of €0.54Bn in first four months of 2015. EBITDA from continuing operations in H2 expected to be ahead of last year. Closing price 328.60p (Reuters)
