Marstons (MARS.L) – Reports a 3.6% drop in pre-tax profit, citing the disposal of pubs and a shorter trading period. Underlying pre-tax profit fell to £83m (£86.1m last year). Revenue up 1% to £787.6m. Closing Price 144.20p (Reuters)

Poundland Group (PLND.L) – Total sales up 15% to £528.2m (2013: £459.2m). Like-For-Like sales up 4.7% (2013: +0.8%). Underlying pre-tax profits up 34.2% to £12.6m (2013: £9.4m). Interim dividend of 1.5 p/s. Remain confident of further progress throughout year. Closing Price 310.00p (Reuters)
