BG Group (BG.L) – Oil production starts from Iracema find in Brazil. Also names Statoil Chief Helge Lund as new CEO  Closing Price 1025.00p (Reuters)

Balfour Beatty (BBY.L) – Has named Leo Quinn, head of defence firm QinetiQ as its new chief executive, opting for a boss with a track record in turning businesses around. Closing price 148.70p. (Reuters)

CSR (CSR.L) – Qualcomm Inc has agreed to buy chip maker CSR for $2.5bn, pushing out its rival Microchip Technology to win the British Bluetooth specialist. CSR said on Wednesday its shareholders would receive 900p a share in cash under the terms of the deal. Closing Price 658.50p (Reuters)

Fresnillo (FRES.L) – Quarterly silver production decreased 21.5% when compared to 2013. Quarterly gold production decreased 4.4% from 2013. On track to achieve 2014 guidance of 43m silver ounces. Increased 2018 gold production target from 500,000 ounces to 750,000 ounces. 2018 silver production target of 65m ounces remains in place. Closing Price 790.50p (Reuters)

Shire (SHP.L) – AbbVie board notifies Shire of intention to reconsider merger. AbbVie board to meet on October 20th to discuss in light of new US treasury rules that make the deal less attractive.. AbbVie would have to pay Shire a 'break fee' of $1.635bn. Shares in Shire have risen over 40% since the deal was agreed in July. Closing Price 5140.00p (Reuters)
