Carphone Warehouse (CPW.L) - Met forecasts with a 59% rise in annual earnings as it prepares to merge with Dixons Retail. made headline earnings per share of 18.4 pence for the year to March 29. That compares to company guidance of 17-20 pence and 11.6 pence made in the 2012-13 year. Closing price 313.5p. (Reuters)

Barclays (BARC.L) - The New York Attorney General on Wednesday filed a securities fraud lawsuit against Barclays PLC for giving an unfair edge to its U.S. high-frequency trading clients even as it claimed to be protecting other customers from the traders. Closing price 230p. (Reuters)

Vodafone (VODA.L) - Set to gain unconditional EU approval for its 7.2bn euro bid for Spain's largest cable operator Ono as regulators do not have competition concerns. Closing price 189.9p. (Reuters)

Dixons (DXNS.L) - Beat forecasts with an 76% rise in annual profit as it prepares to merge with Carphone Warehouse. said the new financial year had started well, with an uplift in TV sales driven by the World Cup and early glimmers of a consumer recovery. Closing price 48.04p. (Reuters)
