AstraZeneca (AZN.L) – Has won FDA approval for Epanova, a new pill for heart disease. Closing Price 4808.00p (Reuters)

Barclays (BARC.L) – Pretax profit down to £1.69bn, investment banking income down 28% to £2.49bn, Q1 net profit to £965m (£934m expected) “focused on structurally reducing cost base”. Closing Price 258.50p (Bloomberg)

Balfour Beatty (BBY.L) – CEO Andrew McNaughton has quit as it warned that 2014 pre-tax profits would be significantly lower than previous expectations. Weakness in its British construction business expects £30m shortfall in 2014. Pretax profit range now £145-160m vs. £187m expected  Closing Price 285.80p (Reuters)

Glencore Xstrata (GLEN.L) – Met market forecasts with a 24% increase in copper production in Q1 helped by production expansion at its African and Australian operations. Produced 382,000tns of copper in Q1 (321,800tns last year) Closing Price 319.25p (Reuters)
